At Blue Octopus we know diversity and the gender-pay gap is a key focus for many UK organisations. Therefore we have conducted research into how the language of a job ad could impact on diversity. We have now implemented specialist functionality into our Octo ATS, for hiring managers to be able to score job adverts based on gender bias and education.
The most visible aspect of hiring that influences the makeup of your candidate pool is your job descriptions. The words used in job adverts could be repelling or attracting candidates, based on their gender. The most qualified candidates may not apply to your open roles because they are turned off by the language that you use.

How does the new functionality work ?
Please note, all the scores are guidelines only.
Functionality like this is usually used through separate softwares, where as with Octo you are able to score your job adverts within the ATS, it’s that simple.
