Salary range: £20,460 - £22,733 per annum pro rata +benefits

Role Summary

Here at Seashell Trust we provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment and communication disorders and autism.

We are recruiting for two Senior Learning Support Assistants to join the team in our specialist SEN College, where our students are aged between 19 – 25 years old.

Responsibilities will include the following – please see the attached job description for full details.

  • The Senior LSA will ensure that in the college we create an environment which is conductive both to student educational achievements and to the students’ own health, wellbeing and personal development and self-regulation through positive behaviour support
  • Support the management and supervision of LSAs
  • To deliver teaching sessions to the students across the curriculum to a high standard and working towards the EHCP outcomes, ensuring recording of assessments and showing progress from starting points

Requirements

GCSE English and Maths grade A-C or equivalent level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy

Teaching Assistant Diploma/equivalent

Experience of working with children and young people with multi-sensory impairments and/or complex with learning difficulties and disabilities

Experience of working with and managing students who present with challenging behaviour

Ability to contribute, follow and evaluate educational programmes set by the teacher

Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Ability to organise, support and co-ordinate group or individual activities

Regular requirements to move and handle students who have a range of physical abilities, in a variety of settings including classroom, gym, pool areas, residential units and some restricted spaces
