New Development Manager

The New Development Manager role is an integral link for the handover of new build rental properties completed by our Developer Team throughout the North West to our Neighbourhoods team and the rest of Trafford Housing Trust to manage and maintain the properties going forward.  This is a strategic role which places significant importance on working collaboratively with external stakeholders, such as local authorities to put relevant policies and procedures in places, and with internal stakeholders to ensure that the full aspects of customers tenancies and customer experience are handled with the same level of service and standards as properties within the Trafford area.

In addition, the New Development Manager is responsible for the line management of a small team including undertaking regular 1 to 1 supervisions, appraisals and effective performance management.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Provide expertise and support to staff dealing with highly complex and challenging cases, ensuring support mechanisms are in place for customers and employees and appropriate use is made of legal and expert advice.
  • Effectively develop, manage and quality control casework to ensure excellence and effectiveness in service delivery.
  • To provide strong direction and leadership, managing and motivating staff to high levels of performance and to contribute to the achievement of identified aims and objectives.
  • Accountable for ensuring service area achievement of key performance indicators and service standards.
  • Work with our Developer Team, Laurus, to develop well planned and customer focused neighbourhoods.
  • Being the strategic neighbourhood lead on the process of decanting customers displaced by regeneration projects.
  • Calculation and ratification of Rents for new developments both at design stage and prior to handover.
  • To manage expressions of dissatisfaction and complaints effectively by seeking to resolve at first point of contact.
  • Valuing the voice and experience of customers being able to build strong relationships with customers based on a culture of respect.

This is a fixed term role with is expected to end March 2023.

The Person

With a strong focus on delivering excellence in customer service, you’ll be a fantastic, confident communicator with a good overall understanding of Tenancy management. Commitment to delivering fantastic customer experiences is a must, as is involving external and internal parties to deliver the same commitment to our customers.

Above all, you’ll be a team player with the ability to co-ordinate and inspire excellent delivery of services across the North West.
